Mrs Brigid Howells

Executive Head of School and DSL

Since qualifying as a teacher, I have had the privilege of working with many brilliant staff and children in schools both large and small. I love working in small schools as you really build positive relationships with children and parents alike. My favourite subjects  are Science, IT and Maths although I have to admit the children are now teaching me more IT! When I'm not in work you will often find me walking around Cardinham woods with my dogs Harry and Chester!

Mrs Daniela Cheetham

Class 1 Teacher and DDSL

'I have always loved to read. As a young child my favourite author was Enid Blyton and her book series ‘The Famous Five’. Reading about amazing fun adventures as a child sparked my imagination and made me believe that anything was possible. Later, as a parent, reading with my children was one of our favourite activities and we spend hours in their bedrooms reading before bedtime. Our favourite books were ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ by Enid Blyton and ‘Muddle Earth’ by Paul Stewart. Reading with my children allowed me to connect with my childlike imagination again and enjoy those adventures I loved as a child and pass that on to my own children. In school, I love to share my love for reading and stories and it is nice to continue what I have started with my own children at school. Story time is always a very special part of the day and the children and I love it. In my free time I enjoy reading a range of fiction and non-fiction books to relax after a long day and I am not particular fussy what kind of books I read, as long as they are interesting, enjoyable and good'.

Mrs Jemma Shields

SENDCo

I have worked in education ever since leaving school in one  role or another. I worked as a 1:1, classroom TA & HLTA over the course of the first 8 years of my career. This is where my passion for the education of pupils with SEND began! I then qualified as a teacher & worked in several schools teaching a wide variety of year groups for the next 10 years. The majority of this time was spent within small village primary schools.

Alongside my class teacher role, I qualified as a SENDCO & worked as both a class teacher & SENDCO for a number of years before taking on the role of Trust SENDCO back in 2020. SEND provision is a real passion of mine  and I strongly believe that what is best practice for children with SEND is just best practice and  benefits all children generally.

When I'm not at work I live with my family near Wadebridge, including my partner, 2 young children and  our dog. We enjoy walking & exploring in the beautiful Cornish countryside & along the coast near where we live.

Mrs Clare Bray

Class 2 Teacher

I have been teaching for twenty years now, and am delighted to be here at St Tudy, where my own grandfather was a pupil. I am passionate about maths and English, and seeing the excitement on children's faces as they realise what they can achieve! My other passion is music - I love singing, and play the piano and flute too. Barely a day goes by where there is no singing in my class!

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, cycling, gardening or reading,

   Miss Holly Hunt

Class 2 Teacher

I love teaching and working with children, it is a pleasure to start my career at St Tudy School. Outside of school I love walking my dog, Walter, on the coast paths, beaches and the moors. I also spend my time being creative and sewing quirky animal sculptures.

Mrs Michelle Cobb

Class 1 and 2 TA

I’ve been a TA for almost 11 years in Primary Schools. Being part of a child’s first steps in Education is the most amazing journey which everyday I feel blessed to be a part of.

Prior to becoming a TA I worked in the Ministry Of Defence in Whitehall and worked and met with many interesting people from around the world including MPs and members of the Royal Family.

My passion from childhood has been Art and for nearly 30 years have been a semi professional artist mainly painting portraits, I was thrilled to share one of my sketch books with Class 2 and have been amazed every term at their talent and interest in Art and Crafts.

        Mrs Jacqui Carless

               School Secretary

I had a few favourite books as a child but the ones I loved to read the most were, The Lion The Witch, and the Wardrobe, along with Alice in Wonderland. Someone likened reading to dreaming with your eyes open and, I would agree. I still like to read, but mostly these days, it's autobiographies and thrillers.

Mrs Laura Cleave

Class 1 TA and HLTA

I worked in childcare for many years starting in nurseries after completing my NNEB in the year 2000. I have carried my career on by doing my NVQ3 and HLTA level 4.

It’s the best job ever, supporting, helping nurturing, playing and seeing children grow.

(Not so good seeing children I used to look after when they were 3 and now they are grown adults of 20) … feeling old …

I enjoy horse riding, travelling, spending time with my beautiful family, walking the dog, swimming in the sea and making the most of this beautiful place I live and come from Cornwall.
